The Stratford Greenway is a 5 mile disused railway line which Warwickshire County Council in partnership with Sustrans has transformed into traffic free walking and cycle route. Starting at the Severn Meadows Car Park on the West side of Stratford town and heading out along the river. The Greenway travels along the River Avon and Stratford Racecourse towards the nearby villages of Long Marston and Welford on Avon. This route is part of Sustrans National Cycle Network Route5 and halfway along the route is the Milcote Picnic Area along with a refurbished railway carriage café. The Carriages 5344 Cafe is ideally placed either as a stopping point to obtain refreshment or as a starting point for your journey. Cycle hire can be arranged locally from Stratford Bike Hire either start your journey or stop on route!
